Trolls Go Viral for the Wrong Reasons!

But in Jhansi, a woman left her husband ran away because she didn't like her husband’s dark complexion!

CNB World Times

A couple from Madhya Pradesh got married after 11 years of romance, but the internet decided to attend the wedding uninvited — and create chaos for free.

Rishabh Rajput and Shonali Chouksey looked happy, glowing, and perfectly busy being in love. But trolls on X and Instagram suddenly forgot their own display pictures and attacked the groom for his dark skin tone.

Rishabh wore a sherwani, a bright pink shawl, and enough confidence to light up the mandap. Shonali wore a magenta lehenga and a smile that could melt steel. But the moment their garland-exchange photo went viral, the internet went not-so-viral, more like fungal.

One user dramatically asked,

“What is the core reason behind these types of marriages?”

as if love needed a government-issued certificate.

Some genius commented,

“Bank balance matter karta hai.”

Another demanded to know,

“Didi, aisi kya majboori thi?”

as if Shonali had eloped with an alien.

Many even assumed Rishabh must have a sarkari naukri, because in India even true love apparently needs a government job to be believable.

Rishabh politely clarified,

“No government job, just a regular family guy with a decent income and a long history of being loved by my wife even when I had nothing.”

Mic. Drop.

Shonali also reminded everyone,

“Humein farq nahi padta. Hum enjoy kar rahe hai.”

Rishabh Rajput replied calmly to the colour-shaming. He said he had dreamed of marrying Shonali since 2014. He waited 11 years for this moment and became emotional when he saw her as a bride. He clarified that he is not a government employee but works hard to support his family. He said Shonali loved him even when he had nothing. Rishabh also thanked supporters and shared that he has faced discrimination for his dark skin all his life.

But while the Madhya Pradesh couple was fighting colourism with humour and confidence, another story from Uttar Pradesh proved how deep this problem still is.

In Jhansi, a woman left her husband, took money, jewellery, and two men on a bike — and later told police she ran away because she didn't like her husband’s dark complexion.

A strange case from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, has revealed how skin colour bias still affects marriages. A woman named Jyoti disappeared from her home in the Lahchura area, leaving her husband Durgapal searching for days. He later filed a missing complaint, also reporting that money and jewellery were gone. Police traced Jyoti through CCTV and call records and found she had left on a bike with two men. After seven days, she was located in Chhatarpur, Madhya Pradesh. When questioned, Jyoti refused to return to her husband, saying she did not like his dark complexion. She also accused him and his family of dowry harassment. Station in-charge Arun Tiwari confirmed she was firm about not living with her husband again.

The police were confused. The husband was confused. India was confused.

But colour-based discrimination? Sadly, that was not confused at all — it was alive, loud, and completely unnecessary.

Moral of the Story

Skin colour is not a character certificate. Love wins, trolls lose, and psychological discrimination still needs a long overdue divorce from Indian society.
