Kolkata, 15th August 2025: Argentine football legend Lionel Messi will start his three-city “GOAT Tour of India 2025” from Kolkata on December 12. Event promoter Satadru Dutta confirmed the visit on Friday.
Messi will arrive in Kolkata on the night of December 12. He will spend two days and one night in the city. On December 13, he will attend a morning meet-and-greet. A special food and tea festival will also be organized, featuring Bengali fish dishes, including hilsa and local sweets.
The day will include the unveiling of Messi’s largest statue and a “GOAT Concert” and “GOAT Cup” at either Eden Gardens or Salt Lake Stadium. In order to present an opportunity to all his fans to paint and post messages in a nearby message box, a 25X20-foot mural will be displayed during Durga Puja. The mural later be presented to Messi during the concert.

After Kolkata, Messi will travel to Ahmedabad on December 13 for a private event by the Adani Foundation. He will reach Mumbai on December 14 for a meet-and-greet at CCI Brabourne, followed by a GOAT Concert and Cup at Wankhede Stadium. He will also play a padel match with celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan and Leander Paes.
The tour ends in Delhi, where Messi will meet Prime Minister Modi before attending the final GOAT Concert and GOAT Cup at Feroz Shah Kotla on December 15. Cricket stars Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill have been invited by the Delhi District Cricket Association.
This will be Messi’s first visit to India since 2011, when he played a FIFA friendly against Venezuela at Salt Lake Stadium.
