New Delhi, 9th February, 2026:

In a moment of pride and recognition, Mr. Devi Prasad Sahu, State President–Odisha, was conferred with the INDIA ICON AWARD–2026 by the National Human Rights & Crime Control Bureau (NHRCCB) at the International Human Rights Convention 2026, held at the India International Centre, New Delhi.

The prestigious national honour was presented in the presence of eminent dignitaries, including Shri Randheer Kumar, National President, NHRCCB; Ms. Kristina Ananina, Representative from the Embassy of Russia; Shri Jaya Prakash Nishad, Former Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament; and Shri Prabhat Kumar Mishra, National Coordinator, NHRCCB.

The award recognises Mr. Sahu’s exceptional leadership, dedication, and sustained contribution to human rights advocacy and social justice. Under his guidance, Team Odisha has delivered impactful results at the national level, despite operating with limited manpower—demonstrating commitment, discipline, and grassroots effectiveness.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Devi Prasad Sahu said the honour was not an individual achievement but a collective success of Team Odisha, driven by integrity, courage, and a shared mission to uphold human rights. He also expressed sincere gratitude to National President Shri Randheer Kumar and National Coordinator Shri Prabhat Kumar Mishra for their continued guidance, trust, and support.

The event echoed the powerful message and guiding principle:

“Kalam ki taqat hi asli taqat hai.”

This recognition further strengthens the resolve of NHRCCB Team Odisha to work fearlessly, transparently, and relentlessly for the protection of human rights, justice, and the voice of the common people.
