Why the Moon Turns Red During Lunar Eclipse?
On 7th September 2025, people witness a rare celestial event – a full lunar eclipse, also called the "Blood Moon."
A lunar eclipse happens when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon.
During this time, Earth’s shadow falls on the Moon, making it look dark and red.
This eclipse is the longest in many years.
It is also the first "Blood Moon" visible from all parts of the country since 2018.
The red color appears because light from the Sun bends around the Earth.
The shorter wavelengths scatter in the atmosphere, but the longer wavelengths, like red and orange, reach the Moon.
This makes the Moon appear red or copper-colored, giving it the name "Blood Moon."
