6 Dead After Terror Attack in East Jerusalem
Jerusalem, 9th Sept, 2025: At least six people were killed and 12 others injured in a shooting attack in occupied East Jerusalem on Monday morning.
The attack took place at Ramot Junction on Yigal Yadin Street in north Jerusalem. Witnesses said the gunmen arrived in a vehicle, boarded a bus, and opened fire at passengers and people waiting at a bus stop.
Emergency services confirmed that four victims died at the scene, including a man aged around 50 and three men in their 30s. Paramedics said six people were in serious condition, two had moderate injuries, and three were lightly hurt by flying glass.
Israeli police described the incident as a terror attack. A security officer and a civilian shot and killed the attackers shortly after the shooting began. The perpetrators were reportedly from the occupied West Bank.
Following the attack, Israeli forces closed all checkpoints between East Jerusalem and the West Bank. The Israeli military said it had reinforced troops in the Jerusalem area and launched a search for possible accomplices.
No group has claimed responsibility, but Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad praised the attack. Hamas called it a “natural response” to Israeli actions in Gaza and the West Bank and warned of further resistance.
The shooting has further heightened tensions in the region as violence continues to escalate.
