PM Congratulates Indian Medallists at Commonwealth Games 2026

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has congratulated Indian athletes Neeraj Chopra, Yamini Maurya and Tejaswin Shankar for their remarkable medal-winning performances at the Commonwealth Games 2026 in Glasgow.

Congratulating Neeraj Chopra on winning the silver medal in the Men's Javelin event, the Prime Minister praised his remarkable consistency, composure and sporting spirit. He said Neeraj's achievements continue to make every Indian proud and conveyed his best wishes for his future endeavours.

In another message, the Prime Minister lauded Yamini Maurya for securing the silver medal in the Women's 57 kg Judo category. He appreciated her outstanding performance, noting that her passion and dedication to the sport were clearly reflected during the competition. Shri Modi expressed confidence that her success would inspire many young sportspersons to take up judo and wished her continued success.

The Prime Minister also congratulated Tejaswin Shankar on winning the bronze medal in the Men's Decathlon. He praised the athlete for delivering an exceptional all-round performance across all ten events and said Indian athletes continue to create history and bring pride to the nation. He extended his best wishes for Tejaswin's continued success in the years ahead.
