Dharmendra Pradhan is one of Odisha's most prominent political leaders and a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Over the years, he has served in several key positions in the Government of India, including Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Education.

1969

• Born on 26 June 1969 at Talcher in Angul district, Odisha.
• Son of former Union Minister Debendra Pradhan and Basanta Manjari Pradhan.

1983

• Joined the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) while studying at Talcher College.
• Began his journey in student politics.

1985

• Elected President of the Talcher College Students' Union.
• Became actively involved in student movements across Odisha.

1995

• Appointed National Secretary of ABVP, emerging as a national student leader.

1997

• Led a major student protest against the alleged Plus Two examination paper leak in Odisha.
• Around 1,500 students gathered outside the Odisha Secretariat demanding accountability.

1998

• Married Mridula Pradhan on 9 December.
• The couple has one son and one daughter.

2000–2004

• Elected as MLA from Pallahara Assembly Constituency in Odisha.

2004

2012
