Student Protests Lead to Dharmendra Pradhan's Resignation

In a major political development, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from the Union Council of Ministers on 25 July 2026 following weeks of nationwide student protests over the alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG 2026 examination. His resignation came just before the third round of talks between the Central Government and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which had been leading the nationwide agitation.

They, however, stated that other demands, including compensation for affected families, protection from legal action for protesters and further education reforms, would continue to be pursued with the government.
