Motto College Concludes Girls’ Self-Defence Training
Motto +3 Degree College organized the valedictory ceremony of the Girls’ Self-Defence Training Programme under the Shaktishree Empowerment Cell. Chandbali BDO Sanjib Mohapatra attended as Chief Guest and distributed certificates to participants after the successful completion of the six-day training.

The valedictory ceremony of the Girls’ Self-Defence Training Programme under the Shaktishree Empowerment Cell was held at Motto +3 Degree College on July 23, 2026. Chandbali Block Development Officer (BDO) Sanjib Kumar Mohapatra attended the programme as the Chief Guest. The programme was inaugurated by Sri Subhash Chandra Malla, Chief Adviser of the College, and Chief Guest Sri Sanjib Kumar Mohapatra, BDO, Chandbali Block, through the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
The programme was presided over by Bibhuti Bhushan Jaydev Biswal, Principal of the college. Subhash Chandra Malla, Chief Adviser of the college, was also present on the occasion. Other dignitaries included former coordinator Nirupama Sutar, Programme Coordinator Bishnupriya Sahoo, and Joint Coordinator Pallabi Mitra.
All third-year students of the college actively participated in the programme. The six-day self-defence training for girl students was conducted by trainer Diptimanjari Biswal, equipping participants with essential self-defence techniques and confidence. Certificates were distributed to all participants during the valedictory ceremony in recognition of their successful completion of the training.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest and college authorities highlighted the importance of self-defence training in promoting confidence, safety, and self-reliance among young women. The college administration expressed gratitude to the guests, trainer, coordinators, and students for making the programme a grand success.
The Shaktishree Initiative, launched by the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha, aims to empower female students through structured self-defence training and awareness programmes. The initiative promotes personal safety, leadership, and confidence while encouraging students to make effective use of emergency response systems and digital safety resources available through the state.
