Bhubaneswar, 18th October, 2025:

The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, Prajnapitha, Samantapur, Bhubaneswar, has officially released the schedule for the Annual Higher Secondary (H.S.) Examinations 2026, including Internal Assessment, Project, Practical, and Theory examinations for all affiliated Higher Secondary Schools and Colleges across the state.

 

As per Notification No. EG-I-396/24/3A09/CHSE(O) dated 14.10.2025, the Internal Assessment, Project, and Practical Examinations will be conducted in two phases:

 

First Phase: December 22 to December 31, 2025

Second Phase: January 2 to January 15, 2026

 

These examinations will cover all subjects as per the schedule issued by CHSE. Schools are instructed to strictly follow the given timelines even if any of the scheduled days are later declared holidays.

 

Regular candidates must secure a minimum of 6 out of 20 marks and 3 out of 10 marks in internal and project components to qualify for the Annual H.S. Examination 2026.

 

Important Guidelines

 

1. Ex-Regular Candidates: There will be no internal examination or project work for ex-regular students, and no related fees will be collected from them.

2. Correspondence Course Students: Their internal or project work will be conducted through the Higher Secondary School where they are enrolled.

3. Missed Exams: Regular students unable to appear in the first slot for genuine reasons may take the exam in the second slot between January 10 and 15, 2026.

4. Conduct of Exams: All practical and project evaluations must be conducted under CCTV surveillance. Superintendents are required to ensure proper functioning of CCTV throughout the examinations.

5. Commerce Stream Viva Voce: Evaluation and viva for Commerce students will be completed in groups of 24 within two hours, conducted by internal subject teachers only.

6. Project Work: Must be handwritten by students on A4 size paper within six pages, based on topics assigned by subject teachers from the prescribed syllabus.

 

Enrollment and Form Fill-up Schedule

A separate Notification (No. EG-I-413/2025/3694/CHSE(O)) dated 06.10.2025, issued by Dr. Prasanta Kumar Parida, Controller of Examinations, details the enrollment and form fill-up process for Regular and Ex-Regular candidates across Arts, Commerce, Science, and Vocational streams, including Correspondence courses.

No further extensions will be granted.

 

Fees Structure for Annual H.S. Examination 2026

 

 Examination & Certificates (Form fill-up + Pass + Migration): ₹800

Internal/Project/Practical Evaluation (per paper): **₹40**

Late Fines: ₹200 (first), ₹600 (second)

Change of Examination Centre: ₹500

Additional Centre Charge: ₹50 (for newly opened institutions)

 

Note: Students with benchmark disabilities are eligible for full fee exemption as per CHSE norms.

 

Eligibility Criteria

 

Regular Candidates: Those registered under CHSE in 2024 are eligible for the Annual H.S. Examination 2026.

Ex-Regular Candidates: Those registered up to 2023, who either failed or missed previous examinations.

Compartmental Candidates: Students securing at least 210 aggregate marks in 2024 or 2025 and failing in one or more subjects may appear compartmentally in 2026.

 

Dr. Prasanta Kumar Parida, Controller of Examinations, CHSE Odisha, emphasized that all institutions must strictly adhere to the notified schedules and procedures to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the Annual Higher Secondary Examination 2026.

 

Instructions & Responsibilities for Institutions

 

Principals and Heads of Institutions are instructed to:

Strict adherence to CHSE rules and timelines.

Ensure timely completion of all internal, project, and practical examinations.

Verify all student documents and registration details before form fill-up.

Verification of all candidate documents, mark sheets, and registration details.

 

Timely online submission of enrollment and examination data through the e-space portal of CHSE.

 

Conduct all evaluations under CCTV supervision.

Conduct of practical and project exams under secure conditions.
