The Indian Navy–US Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Exercise 2026 is scheduled to be conducted at the Southern Naval Command, Kochi, Kerala, from August 10 to 14, 2026.

The five-day bilateral exercise will focus on enhancing interoperability, professional cooperation and operational synergy between specialist diving and EOD teams of the Indian Navy and the US Navy.

Training and Knowledge Exchange

The exercise will include Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs), cross-training, equipment demonstrations and scenario-based practical exercises. These activities will provide opportunities for personnel from both navies to exchange contemporary EOD methodologies, emerging technologies and best practices.

The participating teams will also gain a better understanding of each other's capabilities, operational concepts and approaches to specialised maritime operations.

Strengthening Operational Capabilities

The exercise is designed to promote collaborative learning and strengthen cooperation between the two navies. It will enable personnel to refine operational procedures, improve mutual understanding and enhance their ability to respond effectively to complex and evolving EOD challenges.

Long-Standing Bilateral Cooperation

The Indian Navy and US Navy have been conducting joint Salvage and EOD exercises since 2005. The 2026 engagement will mark the eighth edition of this specialised bilateral training exercise.

The exercise reflects the continued commitment of both navies to enhancing interoperability, sharing operational expertise and strengthening cooperation in specialised maritime operations.
