Sri Sathya Sai Baba’s 100th Birth Anniversary Celebrated Worldwide

From Atapur blood donation drive to grand events at Prasanthi Nilayam and a world conference in the USA, Sai Baba’s centenary was celebrated with devotion, service, and unity worldwide.

The 100th birth anniversary of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba was celebrated with great devotion and enthusiasm on November 23, 2025. The centenary events, centered around the themes of love, service and unity, were observed across more than 120 countries.

Prema Sanjivani Blood Donation Camp in Soro, Balasore

To mark the occasion, the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation at Atapur Bhajana Mandali, Soro Samiti in the district Balasore organised a Prema Sanjivani Blood Donation Camp.

The program was inaugurated by the chief guest Shri Murali Murari Patra, Officer  in Soro Police Station in the presence of Shri Kamalakant Shial, Convenor of Atapurbhajana Sangh along with thousands of followers.

A total of 101 people donated blood during the camp. The chief guest and other dignitaries appreciated the noble effort, describing blood donation as a life-saving service. They expressed hope that the organisation would continue such humanitarian initiatives in the future.

Eminent local volunteers, including Panchanan Shial, Rabindra Nayak, Mayadhar Behera, Pappu Patra, Vijaya Nayak, Bansidhar Mallick, Parsuram Shial, Dayanidhi Behera, Balaram Jena, Braj Kishore Mohanty and Babuli Nayak, encouraged and motivated the donors.

Service Activities and Devotional Programs

Inspired by the belief that “we are all children of God and no one is helpless,” the Atapur Bhajana Sangh also distributed winter clothes and blankets to 100 elderly beneficiaries as part of Narayan Seva.

The celebrations included Rath Parikrama, Bhajan Kirtan, Akhanda Bhajan, devotional music, dance and drama performances, spiritual discourses and interfaith dialogues. In the evening,  The 100th birthday of Sri Satya Sai Baba was observed with a cultural presentation by Balavikash children.

For the past 24 years, members of this organisation have been actively involved in a wide range of social service activities—tree plantation drives, installation of free drinking water points during summers across Soro’s highways, and helping poor patients access free treatment at Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital in Prasanthi Nilayam run by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust,  which was founded by Sri Sathya Sai Baba. 

Large Devotee Participation

The two-day celebration, held on November 22 and 23, saw the participation of about 2,000 devotees from the Soro Samiti area. Arrangements were made to serve prasad to over 2,000 worshippers.

Grand Celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam

At the primary ashram, Prasanthi Nilayam in Andhra Pradesh, massive gatherings marked the centenary. India’s Prime Minister, along with several state Chief Ministers, attended the celebrations. Highlights included the majestic Swarna Rathotsavam (golden chariot procession), a spectacular drone light show, and the inauguration of the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, the world’s largest free rural hospital, .

The governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana declared the centenary a State Function.

On November 19, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a ₹100 commemorative coin and a set of postal stamps to honor the life and legacy of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba during his centenary celebrations at Prasanthi Nilayam.

Global Commemoration

As part of the international celebrations, the Sri Sathya Sai International Organization hosted its 11th World Conference in Riverside, California, USA, from November 20 to 22, 2025.
