Patna, Nov 9: The campaigning for the second and final phase of the Bihar Assembly elections concluded this evening. Political parties left no stone unturned to woo voters on the last day of canvassing.

Polling for the remaining 122 Assembly constituencies across 20 districts will be held on Tuesday, November 11, while the counting of votes for all 243 seats will take place on November 14.

Of the 122 seats, 19 are reserved for Scheduled Castes and two for Scheduled Tribes. A total of 3.70 crore voters, including 1.95 crore men, 1.74 crore women, and 943 third-gender voters, are eligible to exercise their franchise. Among them, 7.69 lakh will be voting for the first time.

In this phase, the fate of 1,302 candidates—including 136 women—will be decided. A total of 45,399 polling stations have been set up, with 40,073 in rural and 5,326 in urban areas. Each booth will serve an average of 815 voters, and 595 booths will be managed entirely by women staff. Additionally, 316 model booths have been established, and webcasting will be conducted across all polling stations to ensure transparency and fair voting.

On the final day of campaigning, top leaders from major parties crisscrossed the state to garner support. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and senior NDA leaders Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Yogi Adityanath addressed multiple rallies. On the opposition side, Tejashwi Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, and other Mahagathbandhan leaders campaigned vigorously, raising issues of unemployment, migration, and development.

During the campaign, the NDA targeted the opposition on law and order and governance records, while the Mahagathbandhan sought to capitalize on promises of change and youth empowerment. The political fate of 12 ministers in the Nitish Kumar-led government will also be decided in this phase.

The first phase of polling, covering 121 constituencies in 18 districts, was held on November 6. The results of both phases will determine which alliance crosses the majority mark of 122 seats in the 243-member Assembly.
