Widespread Heavy Rainfall Predicted Across India for Next 7 Days

New Delhi, July 4:
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy to very heavy rainfall across most parts of the country from July 4 to July 10, 2025. Central India, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha, will experience intense rainfall, with very heavy showers expected in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh on multiple days.
In the east, Jharkhand, Odisha, Gangetic and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim are likely to receive isolated heavy rains. Northwest India, including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, will also witness heavy downpours, with extremely heavy rain forecast for Himachal Pradesh and Jammu on July 6.
The Western region, particularly Konkan, Goa, Gujarat, and Madhya Maharashtra, is set to see heavy to very heavy rain, especially over ghat areas. Northeast India, including Meghalaya, will receive consistent rainfall till July 6.
South Peninsular India, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Telangana, will also see widespread showers with strong winds up to 50 kmph.
Fishermen are strongly advised not to venture into sea areas along the Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, and Tamil Nadu coasts and the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal from July 4 to 9 due to rough sea conditions.
