PM Modi Highlights Youth Role in Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the participation of young people in the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Abhiyan during the 138th episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat on September 27, 2026.

The Prime Minister said that millions of young people have taken a pledge to stay away from drugs and substance abuse. He also noted their efforts to spread awareness about the issue in their communities.

The 100-week campaign brings together volunteers from Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) and the National Service Scheme (NSS), along with schools, colleges, universities and social and spiritual organisations. According to the Prime Minister, thousands of pledge ceremonies and awareness programmes have been organised across the country.

He also highlighted the ‘Nasha-Mukti Ka Sandesh’ initiative, through which young people are communicating messages against substance abuse in local languages and through creative forms of expression.

Various activities, including anthem, slogan-writing and street-play competitions, have been organised through the MY Bharat platform. The campaign is also using social media, with young people sharing creative content under the hashtag #NashaMuktYuva.

The campaign will also include activities such as health check-ups and meditation camps to promote healthy lifestyles and overall well-being among young people.

The Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Abhiyan is being conducted as a 100-week campaign to increase awareness about substance abuse, encourage community participation and promote a collective effort towards a drug-free generation.
