New Delhi, 25th August,2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a detailed state-wise weather forecast under the influence of multiple weather systems including the monsoon trough, cyclonic circulations over the Bay of Bengal and northwest India, and a western disturbance.
Northwest India
Heavy rainfall: Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, East Rajasthan likely to experience heavy rain throughout the week.
Isolated very heavy rain: Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, West Rajasthan on 25th–26th; East Rajasthan on 25th–27th; Uttarakhand on 29th–30th August.
Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms likely across western Himalayan states for the next 7 days, and adjoining plains for the next 3 days
East & Central India
Heavy rainfall: Odisha, Chhattisgarh for the next 5 days; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on 27th & 29th; Bihar & Madhya Pradesh on 25th, 29th–31st; Jharkhand on 30th–31st; Vidarbha on 28th–30th August.
Very heavy rainfall: Odisha on 26th–27th August.
Widespread light to moderate rain with thunderstorms expected across the region for the next 7 days.
West India
Heavy to very heavy rainfall: Gujarat from 25th–27th August, continuing as heavy spells through the week.
Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra: Heavy rain likely for the next 7 days.
Light to moderate rainfall widespread across the western region during the week.
Northeast India
Heavy rainfall: Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh for the next 6–7 days; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura from 27th–30th August.
Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms expected in many places over the next 3 days.
South Peninsular India
Heavy rainfall: Kerala & Mahe (26th–29th); Coastal Karnataka (26th–30th); Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana (27th–28th); Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam (25th–27th August).
Very heavy rainfall: Coastal Andhra Pradesh on 26th August.
Light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms likely at scattered places in the next 3 days, increasing thereafter.
Fishermen Warning
Arabian Sea: Rough sea conditions forecast along and off Somalia, Oman coasts and adjoining sea areas (25th–30th); central Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep, Comorin, Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Karnataka, and Kerala coasts on different dates till 30th August.
Bay of Bengal: Adverse sea conditions along and off Odisha, West Bengal, Bangladesh (26th–30th), Andhra Pradesh (27th–30th) and parts of southwest Bay (25th–27th August).
Fishermen are strictly advised not to venture into these sea areas during the period.
