Kalyan Banerjee Resigns as TMC Chief Whip in Lok Sabha

Senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Kalyan Banerjee’s resignation from the post of Chief Whip of the party in the Lok Sabha has been formally accepted by the Chairperson on Tuesday. He was thanked for his valuable contributions in the role.

Banerjee had submitted his resignation on Monday, stepping down from the key position within the party’s parliamentary setup. Following internal consultations with senior parliamentarians, the Chairperson appointed Dr. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar as the new Chief Whip of the TMC in the Lok Sabha.

Alongside, Smt. Satabdi Roy has been selected as the new Deputy Leader of the Trinamool Congress parliamentary party. Both appointments take effect immediately.

The party extended its best wishes to Dr. Ghosh Dastidar and Satabdi Roy in their new responsibilities, expressing confidence in their continued efforts to uphold the pride, rights, and honour of Bengal in Parliament.
