Bhubaneswar, June 24:
In a massive logistical move to accommodate the surge of pilgrims during the upcoming Rath Yatra 2025, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has announced the operation of a record 365 Special Trains to and from Sri Jagannath Dham, Puri. This is a significant increase from the 315 special trains operated during Rath Yatra 2024.

The special trains will connect Puri with various destinations across Odisha and neighboring states, including Rourkela, Biramitrapur, Bangiriposi, Junagarh Road, Badampahar, Boudh, Jagdalpur, Baleswar, Angul, Gunupur, Rayagada, Paradeep, Bhadrak, Kendujhar, Dhenkanal, Barbil, and Palasa. Trains will also run from important locations in Andhra Pradesh (Visakhapatnam & Palasa), Chhattisgarh (Gondia), and West Bengal (Santragachhi).

These services will focus on key days of the Car Festival, such as Gundicha Yatra, Sandhya Darshan, Bahuda Yatra, and Sunavesa, ensuring seamless travel for lakhs of devotees. Additional trains will run before and after these days as well, ensuring continued connectivity throughout the festival period.

ECoR’s robust planning aims to provide safe, convenient, and affordable transportation for pilgrims, especially from remote and interior regions. This large-scale operation reflects the Railway’s unwavering commitment to supporting world renowned Rath Yatra Festival and Odisha’s most revered cultural and spiritual celebration.
