The seventh anniversary of the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35(A) was marked on 5 August, recalling the constitutional changes introduced in 2019. The day was described as an important milestone in India's journey towards inclusive development.

Over the past seven years, significant progress has been witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh across several sectors. Infrastructure has been expanded, while new opportunities have been created in education, healthcare, entrepreneurship and sports.

Greater constitutional benefits have also been extended to women and members of marginalised communities through the full application of the Constitution of India. Rights and welfare measures that were previously unavailable have been made accessible to eligible citizens.

This year's anniversary has gained additional significance as the nation is commemorating the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee. His contribution to the cause of national unity has been remembered, and the constitutional changes implemented on 5 August 2019 have been viewed as the fulfilment of the vision associated with his efforts.

The Government's commitment to the continued development of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has been reaffirmed. Emphasis has been placed on ensuring that every citizen is provided with opportunities to pursue aspirations and contribute to the vision of a developed India (Viksit Bharat).
