Bhadrak, 8th July: The Bhadrak District Administration organized a Financial Literacy, Financial Inclusion and Cyber Awareness Camp at Kalyan Mandap in Bhandaripokhari to promote safe financial practices, savings awareness and digital security among rural citizens.
The programme was attended by District Financial Services and Savings Officer Monalisa Panda, Inspector Vandana Devi, Bhadrak District Financial Literacy Centre (FLC) Counsellor Ashwini Kumar Nayak, former District Savings Officer Padman Kumar Ray, India Post Payments Bank Manager Soumyadarshi Parija, former Sarpanch of Bandalo Panchayat, along with PEOs, APOs and other officials.
Presiding over the meeting, District Financial Services and Savings Officer Monalisa Panda highlighted the importance of financial literacy and regular savings in building a financially secure society. She encouraged participants to make informed financial decisions and adopt a habit of saving.
Inspector Vandana Devi conducted an awareness session on cyber safety, explaining how women, self-help group members, Anganwadi workers and senior citizens can protect themselves from online fraud and cyber criminals.
Officials from the Financial Literacy Centre and India Post Payments Bank briefed participants on various banking services and social security schemes available to the public. Representatives of the Postal Department also explained different post office savings schemes and encouraged villagers to invest in safe savings instruments.
Former District Savings Officer Padman Kumar Ray cautioned the public against falling victim to cheat fund frauds and advised them to invest only through authorised financial institutions.
Around 120 villagers participated in the camp. Speakers urged attendees to share the knowledge gained during the programme with their families and communities to promote financial literacy, savings habits and cyber awareness. The programme was successfully conducted with the support of the Sarpanch, Bandalo Panchayat staffs, officials of the District Financial Services and Savings Department, and postal agents.
