Indian Railways has announced 3,548 graduate-level vacancies under the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC–Graduate) recruitment for 2026. The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) issued Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 06/2026 for the recruitment. The vacancies offer eligible graduates an opportunity to build a career in Indian Railways, one of the country's largest public service organisations.

The recruitment covers four posts: Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor, Goods Train Manager, Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist, and Senior Clerk Cum Typist. These posts cover commercial services, train operations, accounts, and administration.

Of the total 3,548 vacancies, 2,750 are for Goods Train Manager. The remaining vacancies include 371 for Senior Clerk Cum Typist, 300 for Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist, and 127 for Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor.

Salary and Pay Levels

The posts offer salaries under the Seventh Central Pay Commission. The initial basic pay for Chief Commercial Cum Ticket Supervisor is ₹35,400 per month under Pay Level 6. The other three posts carry an initial basic pay of ₹29,200 per month under Pay Level 5. Applicable allowances and service conditions will be governed by the relevant rules.

Important Dates for Applications

The online application process began on October 8, 2026. Eligible candidates can submit their applications until November 6, 2026, at 11:59 PM. The last date for payment of the examination fee is November 8, 2026. Candidates can make permitted changes to their applications during the modification window from November 9 to November 18, 2026.

Educational Qualification and Age Limit

Candidates must hold a degree from a recognised university or possess an equivalent qualification. They must also meet the specific eligibility requirements for the post they choose.

The notified age limit is 18 to 33 years as of January 1, 2027. Eligible candidates will receive age relaxation according to the applicable rules.

Selection Process and Reservation Benefits

The selection process includes a first-stage Computer-Based Test (CBT), a second-stage CBT, document verification, and a medical examination, as applicable. Selection will be based on merit and fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility conditions.

The recruitment provides applicable reservation and age-relaxation benefits. Eligible candidates with disabilities may also receive scribe assistance and compensatory time according to the prescribed rules. The notification also includes provisions related to examination fee refunds for eligible candidates, subject to the applicable conditions.

Typing Skill Test Provision

According to CEN No. 06/2026, the Computer-Based Typing Skill Test (CBTST) has been dispensed with for Junior Accounts Assistant Cum Typist and Senior Clerk Cum Typist posts. However, candidates are expected to have basic computer and typing proficiency. Their proficiency will be assessed after joining, as specified in the notification.
